Torah Study

Links to the left will lead you to the weekly Torah portions and discussions.

The websites listed below are also available for more information:

URJ
This is the Torat Hayim page on the Union for Reform Judaism site. There is also a link on this page to Family Shabbat Table Talk, which has additional Torah commentary. Cycle 3 in the Family Shabbat Table Talk (not available every week) has Haftorah commentary as well.

My Jewish Learning
Each week it has a number of commentaries running the gamut of Reform, Orthodox and Conservative and including social action, Hillel and the Jewish Federation for good measure.

Shalom Center
Rabbi Arthur Waskow’s web site. Many resources on a new way of thinking about God, prayer, social action, Torah, etc. Rabbi Waskow is a Jewish Renewal rabbi and has also written many books. An email list can be found on his site – and you can subscribe to his always thought-provoking newsletter.

USCJ
This page on the Conservative Jewish site has links to Torah Sparks, the regular weekly commentary, and to a Haftorah commentary. It is also possible to sign up for a weekly email commentary from rabbinic fellows at the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Tanach
Advanced study on the weekly portion – excellent and insightful. Orthodox perspective. Rabbi Artson is a Conservative rabbi, who heads up the Ziegler Rabbinic School. To subscribe to Rabbi Bradley Artson’s weekly commentary write listserve@uj.edu (highly recommended).

Torah
This is an Orthodox site that also has a number of weekly Torah commentaries and also a Haftorah commentary. Most of the rabbis on this site favor transliterations of the Hebrew names over the standard English forms, such as Chava (Eve), Esav or Eisav (Esau) and Yosef (Joseph), and use Ashkenazi rather than Sephardi Hebrew.
